Certainly a cold one this one, still a few brave souls in shorts and vest as I went for the lets see how much clothes I can put on option. The first time we have run the course which was an undulating course of woodland and field, made for challenging by compacted snow on the course: still the snow made for some good photos.

There is only one hill on this race, you run down it for 2 miles and then back up. with a roughly level stretch at start and finish it makes a course of approximately 5 miles.

A cold day for this course of woodland and mud, a 'proper' cross country course. This is a 2 lap undulating course through scenic woodland although, the u turn back up a hill when you think you are on the final descent to the finish is a special treat. In spite of the cold weather a good turnout with 139 runners for the main race.

I thought the previous race at Snape Wood was cold and muddy but this one added wind and rain to cold and even more mud, certainly a 'proper' cross country course. The course consist of 1 lap small and I large lap over an undulating course with amazing woods but offering little shelter from the wind and rain: for a forest remarkably lacking in trees.

Cold, muddy and windy but but dry so a treat after Ashdown forest but still a 'proper' cross country course. The course consists of 1 lap over an undulating course of woods and fields. After the event we had Tea and cakes and the benefit of shelter which went down a treat.

It has been a very competitive season reflected in a number or close results this year, in addition to the first and second team separated by just 2 points and a joint third team result on individual results there equal points within the top 3 for Men 40, Women 35 and Women 60: we have not seem that before. The first and second man was decided by just 1 point. Where there are finishers with equal points the position is decided based on the highest individual race result (and if that is the same the next highest etc).
