Very pleasant warm and dry day (the forecast rain never came) for the first event of the season at Snape Wood near Wadhurst. A very strong turnout of 305 runners in the senior race for the this two lap hilly course, however being early season the recent dry weather the course was dry and fast, unlike some previous years when the event was after Christmas.

Looking forward to another season. The first race of the season will be Snape Wood on 14 October 2018. Leaflet Please see Events tab for all 6 events.
There has been a small change to the team structure this year to better represent the profile of runners in the events: for this season the teams are: 10 men and 6 ladies (last yr 5)
- Men 4 Senior (last yr 5), 3 V40, 2 V50 (last yr 1), 1 V60

Please note that whilst there is 16 in a full team as usual you can have as many runners as you want: the more the merrier.
As for last year seniors can pre register for all 6 races for £10 if English Athletics affiliated £16 if unaffiliated or entry on the day is £4 affiliated or £6 unaffiliated. Senior races are 10.30am
Juniors are free if affiliated or £2 or unaffiliated. Junior races are 10am (note for some races there may be different start times for different age categories but 10am is the earliest)

Season started off with a glorous factor 30 day, with not a cloud in the sky and warm temperature felt like a mid summer off road run rather than the start of the cross country season.
Hailsham were first team followed by Lewes Ac and Hasting AC. See the results tab for full team and individual results.
See the photos page for the photos from the day taken by my wife Lorraine.

Another unseasonally warm day. I have prevulsy been battered by the elements at Warren Hill but this year it was a treat of warm sunshine
Since the race was held on Remembrence day there was a short reading and 2 minute silence before the start of the race.
Very scenic course with only one hill (OK the hill is 2 miles long)
First home was Ross Skelton (Hastings AC) followed by Robert James (Lewes) and Kris Everett (Hastings AC)
For the ladies Emma Richards (Hailsham) followed by Sam Alvarez (Hailsham) and Caroline Wood (Arena 80)
In the Junior race Alfie Clark (Hasting AC) was first followed by Daniel Stidder (Eastbourne) and Nathan Wren (Hasting AC)
First team was Hailsham, Second Lewes and third Hasting AC
It was so mild some runners opted for a picnic in after the race.

Well winter certainly arrived for this one: slippy road up to Firle Beacon bitting wind when you got there. Still I spotted a few brave soles in shorts and vest as I comptemplated whether I had bought enough clothes. First time on this course, very scenic view of the sea to one side and most of Sussex to the other.
First team was Hailsham, second Lewes AC and third Crowbourgh/Wadhurst.
First male was Kris Everett (Hastings AC) second Tom Morris (Lewes) and third Lee Ashworth (Hailsham).
For the ladies first Emma Richards (Hailsham), second Sam Alvarez (Hailsham) and third Jo Curran (Hailsham).
Full results are on the results sheet.
